Детайлно описание

This monograph examines an interdisciplinary health promotion project implemented at the Medical University of Varna during the COVID-19 pandemic. Faced with challenges such as social isolation, remote work, reduced physical activity, and increased stress, the project aimed to enhance the health and quality of life of over 1,500 university employees through evidence-based interventions.

The research combined sociological and statistical methods, including surveys, physical exams, and mental health assessments, to understand the pandemic’s impact and evaluate the effectiveness of targeted health strategies. Key interventions included ergonomic exercises to prevent musculoskeletal issues, therapeutic splints to manage stress-induced teeth grinding, eye health examinations to address screen-related fatigue, and skincare treatments for conditions like “maskne.” These initiatives were designed to address both physical and psychological well-being.

Results showed marked improvements in employee health, validating the effectiveness of this multidisciplinary approach. The project culminated in a comprehensive health promotion model for higher education professionals, offering a practical framework for organizations looking to mitigate the pandemic’s ongoing effects on their workforce.

This monograph is a valuable read for health professionals, academic administrators, and anyone interested in implementing effective workplace health promotion strategies, especially within the higher education sector.
